Social Wall 1-1 conversations are very hard to use

We Migrated Feedback Platforms
The idea of a two App users having a back-and-forth one-on-one conversation is great! ...but the implementation is incomplete. Currently you have to find a user by their comments in an open (many-to-many) thread to initiate the one-on-one thread, and revisiting that thread is just as hard. The only way to really use the feature is if two people are active at the same moment and can keep going back and forth without navigating anywhere else in the App... otherwise it's very challenging to say the least.
Users should be able to look each other up by name, initiate conversations one-on-one, be notified of such threads (and that unread messages await, etc.), and be able to follow the notifications directly to the threads. As it is, the one-on-one capability is very incomplete.

Why not improve and convert it into the customer support too?

I agree - the social wall looks and works great, but could be more useful to a community if users could find each other through a search function, and then private message. Ideally, the search would mine fields in the user profile such as name, interests, bio, location, etc. I feel like I would invite frustration on the part of my users by implementing it as it is at the time of this writing. Thanks!
